In this hands-on STEAM workshop, participants build their own vibrating toy by creating a simple electrical circuit using a DC motor and a counterweight. The activity begins with an introduction to the fundamental principles of electronic circuits, including how electrical energy powers movement.
Participants learn how to connect circuit components safely and correctly while exploring key scientific concepts such as conductors and insulators, mass distribution, balance, and vibration. Through experimentation and testing, they discover how changing the position and weight of the counterbalance affects the movement of their creation.
The workshop encourages problem-solving, creativity, and an understanding of basic engineering principles. After assembling and testing their circuits, participants can customize and decorate their vibrating toys before taking them home.
